Ellie Griffiths

Ellie Griffiths is a theatre maker based in Scotland who specialises in making performance for neurodiverse audiences. This includes individuals labelled as having learning disabilities, complex needs, and on the autistic spectrum. She worked for five years as a performer, director and associate artist with Oily Cart Theatre, and for eight years was a Giggle Doctor with Theodora Children’s Charity.

In mid-2017 Ellie will begin an international research fellowship in Australia and the USA, exploring neurodiversity and performance, funded by the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust. This will focus particularly on finding new approaches to making theatre for people living with later stage dementia.

Ellie runs Upfront Performance Network, an artist-led network to connect and support the neurodiversity and performance sector.
