We are looking for new scratch ideas for an evening at Edinburgh International Children's Festival (Friday 2 June) to curate a programme of high quality, exciting and diverse ideas within theatre and dance for young audiences. Our festival Scratch That! night is an excellent opportunity to try out ideas and receive feedback from peers and delegates attending festival from Scotland and around the world.
Scratch That! events are not suitable for finished pieces or workshops, it's about sharing a new idea to try out. This is an industry only event and there are unlikely to be children/ young people in attendance. There will be limited technical facilities and staff provided, with a short time available on the day to set up for each showing.
This opportunity is open to all artists based in Scotland and any artist attending the festival (as a delegate or as part of a performing company). So, if you have an idea for a short performance piece for children aged between 0-18 years that you are looking to share and that can be performed at Lauriston Hall, then we want to hear from you.
If you would like to discuss an idea before application, you can email Fiona Ferguson (Creative Development Director).
