Livescore

  • livescore project film by Jassy Earl

livescore was a year-long digital arts project, that ran from November 2015 – 16, exploring the concept of instruction scores and graphic scores with artists, technical experts and young people.  livescore was a partnership led by Imaginate with Argyll Youth Arts Hub, #artcore (Edinburgh Youth Arts Hub), Lyceum Youth Theatre, After the News and Kopergietery (Ghent, Belgium).  The Creative Team was led by Greg Sinclair (Digital Artist in Residence) who worked alongside Neil McGuire (Digital Lead) and two amazing trainees Jassy Earl (Trainee Artist in Residence) and Kyle McAslan (Digital Trainee).

We ran workshops with over 100 children and young people from Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dunoon, the Isle of Coll and Ghent (Belgium) ranging from age 7 to age 25 years.  Through these workshops we explored combining instruction scores with digital ideas to see where they created artistically interesting combinations. You can watch a series of very short instruction score films from the various workshops here on our project Vimeo site.

livescore culminated in a new production by Greg Sinclair for age 10+, As The Crow Flies, performed at Platform (Glasgow) and the Traverse Theatre (Edinburgh) in October 2016. You can watch a capture of Traverse Theatre performance of the As The Crow Flies here and read two 4* reviews for As The Crow Flies here:
