imaginate - Promoting and developing performing arts for children and young people in Scotland

Go + See Fund

“I’m asking myself questions, I’ve observed new art forms, I’ve sat amongst children and teenagers and been able to gauge their responses to work, I’ve met artists, directors, playwrights and choreographers…. as an artist myself I feel re-inflated – a breath of fresh air!”

“The Go + See fund allowed me to see a bunch of shows and exhibitions when everything that happened to be my ‘must-sees’ appeared all at the same time. Without that financial support I wouldn’t have been able to experience such a varied and inspirational burst of culture”.

Since 2012, Imaginate has operated a fund dedicated to accessing work, a chance to Go + See the shows you think can help influence and inspire your next project.  Go & See has supported a large number of makers, designers and producers to see productions in Scotland.

What we can fund:

  • the cost of tickets to see performances in Scotland (at Imaginate Festival and at other events and venues around the year)
  • travel costs within Scotland where appropriate

What we can’t fund:

  • international visits
  • applications from artists living outwith Scotland
  • applications from artists who have no proven interest in theatre and dance for young audiences

To apply, tell us in writing what production for children and young people you would like to attend and how you think it will help your practice and inspire your work. Please include total potential costs.

Imaginate Festival Go & See

If you are interested in attending Imaginate Festival with Go & See funding you should register first as a Delegate (this costs £10), all the information about how to do that will be published here.  This will allow you to book free tickets for delegate events and then apply for Go & See Funding as described above.
