We are looking to appoint a freelance Volunteer and Front of House Coordinator to help recruit and coordinate Volunteers and Front of House for the Edinburgh International Children’s Festival 2024 and to ensure audience and volunteers have the best possible experience. 

  • Fee: £4,160
  • Times: 32 days maximum between Jan–June 2024 (Flexible working, equivalent to approx. 2-3 days a week)

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

General

  • To work with the Senior Producer to recruit and plan a front of house and volunteer team for the festival including for the Family Encounters Day at the National Museum of Scotland
  • To produce and implement a team building and training programme for Volunteers and Front of House.
  • To coordinate and support the front of house and volunteer team throughout the festival period.
  • To update Imaginate’s database of volunteers
  • To create a volunteer and front of house schedule across the Festival with the Senior Producer.
  • To work within the allocated front of house and volunteer budget.
  • To assist the festival team as required in the run up to Festival.
  • To assist the Senior Producer to manage the setup of Box office at festival venues.
  • To assist front of house with some box office and audience queries and issues when required.
  • To ensure that all Health and Safety requirements are adhered to within volunteers and front of house teams.

Volunteers

  • To recruit and support volunteers to satisfy the needs of the festival.
  • To work with the Senior Producer and festival team to develop the Volunteers programme to meet the requirements of the festival.
  • To coordinate volunteers for various activities at Festival venues, including performances and all Festival delegate events
  • To widen the reach and update Imaginate’s database of volunteers
  • To evaluate and report on the Volunteer Programme (including financial report) in association with the Head of Marketing.

Front of House

  • To assist the Senior Producer to manage the setup of Box office at festival venues.
  • To assist front of house with some box office and audience queries and issues when required.
