Ruby is an artist based in Glasgow, originally from East London. She is interested in art and theatre that facilitates unusual interactions between groups of people. She makes participatory performances, installations and happenings with surrealist, sci-fi and philosophical undertones. She enjoys making art with other people and experimenting with strange ways of collaborating.
Ruby sometimes sees group dynamics as her medium - she wants to create scenarios in which we dream up new ways of living together and organising ourselves. As we face intersecting economic, health and climate crises and the structures of capitalism wreak destruction as they deteriorate, she thinks art needs to be for everyone and can be our collective imagining of a better world.
