Serena Doran

Serena (she/her) is a performer and theatre maker based in Glasgow. She trained at Jacques Lecoq International Theatre School in Paris, where she graduated in November 2020. She is especially interested in physical theatre, including mask and clowning, and her practices are based in devising, collaboration and exploration. She is fascinated in the relationship between place and memory, and between stories and reality.

Serena enjoys making theatre with and for community groups, particularly children and young people. Recently, she was emerging artist on the Tron Theatre’s Walking Tall Tales team, which worked in collaboration with Urban Roots to create immersive sensory outdoor theatrical experiences for children under five and their families. Now, Serena is excited to be spending the next few months working with Imaginate to create collaborative theatre art with a fantastic group of young people in Edinburgh!

Serena is also a movement tutor at Acting Coach Scotland, working across all their adult full-time courses. In addition, she leads creative workshops for children of all ages, including early years.
