Accelerator is open for applications. We would like to hear from you if you are based in Scotland and have a theatre and/or dance performance idea for young audiences that you would like to develop to a work in progress stage between now and November 2023. Accelerator is aimed at performance makers who have experience of making and touring performances already (for adults and/or for young audiences).
Accelerator offers producing and artistic support to develop new performance ideas for young audiences and will include the chance to present a work in progress at Edinburgh International Children’s Festival in May 2023 and/or at an Imaginate sharing event in autumn 2023. You can read about previous and current Accelerator projects here.
Accelerator comes with additional access budgets, to address barriers artists face to make performances, if needed.

This opportunity is only open to artists based in Scotland. We have separate budgets to cover any access requirements, for the application process or the project and development time.
Please get in touch with us if you would like to discuss anything to do with your idea, the application process, your access needs or Accelerator prior to applying.
We aim to ensure the application and selection process is straightforward and fair. If you have any questions about the process, or the project in general, please email Fiona Ferguson (Creative Development Director, Imaginate) at fiona@imaginate.org.uk.
This project is supported by the PLaCE programme funded by the Scottish Government (through Creative Scotland), the City of Edinburgh Council and the Edinburgh Festivals.
