Go and See Fund

How to apply

We want to make accessing this fund as straight forward as possible so there is no application form or set of questions. Email Fiona Ferguson, Creative Development Director, explaining which shows you would like to see and what the cost is.  We will then agree with you what we can cover and ask you to send us an Invoice and booking confirmation so we can reimburse you.

If you are unsure about anything to do with the Go & See Fund, please do get in touch

Our Go & See Fund is a year-round, ongoing offer to cover the costs of tickets for freelancers based in Scotland working in the young audiences sector.

What we do fund:

  • the cost of tickets for theatre and dance performances in Scotland
  • travel costs*
  • access costs to be able to attend performances

What we can’t fund:

  • international and UK visits and travel outwith Scotland
  • applications from artists and freelancers who are not based in Scotland
  • workshops, courses or other professional development activities

*We will cover travel costs, our only stipulation is that you use public transport (and not cars or taxis) unless this is an access need or you need to drive in order to catch a bus or train. We cover travel from across Scotland which has previously included freelancers travelling from Shetland, Argyle and Bute and the Borders.

Edinburgh International Children's Festival
We want to make sure attending the Children's Festival is accessible for everyone who works in the sector in Scotland so this fund can cover tickets costs, travel outwith Edinburgh and we have a separate access budget. Here is the process for Go & See at the Festival:

- Email us at applications@imaginate.org.uk to agree which shows you would like to see, we can cover the costs of up to 5 tickets.  If you would like to claim back travel costs you can ask this too at this point.
- Register as a delegate, which gives you free access to all Delegate-only events (works in progress, discussions, networking and social events).
- Now you can book your tickets and Delegate-only events, you can find the shows here and the Delegate-only events here.
- Once you are booked, Box Office will send you a booking confirmation which you should forward to applications@imaginate.org.uk with an invoice for your ticket costs (excluding the £10 Delegate Registration which is not covered by Go & See).
- If you are claiming back travel costs, you can invoice us after your visit including a photo of your ticket/receipt or forwarding the booking confirmation.
