We are currently looking for three Trainee artists to work on a series of six artist residencies as part of Immerse, a project working with 6 primary schools in Edinburgh.  The work will take place one day a week next term, between January to April 2022.  The Trainees will work as part of a team of six, alongside six Lead Artists. Trainees will work in school one day a week, with up to two classes. Alongside the paid delivery days, this post also includes:

  • Paid training days including shadowing other Immerse artists and access to
Imaginate’s Creative Development programme and Go & See fund
  • Informal mentoring from the Lead Artist and Imaginate including advice for your
ideas and plans outwith this project
  • Child Protection training from Imaginate and NSPCC

There is more information available in the job description which you can download. If you decide to apply, you should think about the Essential and Desirable bullet points in the Person Specification section. The panel will use these specifications to decide who to invite for interview. For
covid reasons, we are keen to recruit artists who live in, or near, Edinburgh where the schools are based.

We are especially keen to hear from artists currently underrepresented in the young audiences sector in Scotland. Additional budgets are available if you have any access requirements for the application and interview process or for the project itself including providing BSL translation.
