This is a workshop for artists and creative practitioners who are interested in working in ASN schools and settings. The workshop will improve knowledge and confidence to help enable artists to play, work and create with children and young people who have a range of needs, interests and abilities. We will look at meaningful communication, interaction and collaboration and facilitating inclusive play experiences.

The workshop will be held on Zoom. It will be in a relaxed setting where you will be free to move about, take breaks and switch your camera off at any point. When there are opportunities to contribute you will be able to type or talk. A schedule will be available in advance of the workshop with detailed notes to follow up. There will be comfort break built into the workshop half way through.

The workshop will be facilitated by Max Alexander of Play Radical. Max is a play worker, artist, writer and educator who specialises in providing play and arts experiences for disabled and/or neurodivergent children and young people. It is open to all who work within theatre and dance in Scotland including all involved in the making of productions and creative learning practitioners.

We can provide a BSL translator and/or captioning so please talk to us about that, or any other access needs, when you book a place.

This workshop is part of the Jerwood Fellowship programme funded by Jerwood Arts.
