Applications are now open for artists based in Scotland, to participate in a residential lab, as part of PUSH+ (a 3-year Creative Europe co-operation project). This is an 8-day, paid residential laboratory that will explore the topic of Different Bodies in theatre and dance for children and young people, and which will be hosted by Scenekunstbruket in Stamsund, a fishing village in Lofoten in the Arctic Circle, Norway. The Lab will take place from 8 - 18 September 2020 with 3 places for artists in Scotland who will join 3 artists each from Belgium, Ireland, Denmark and Norway.
We are very keen to attract as varied a group of artists as possible, including people with disability, people from minority ethnic groups, and all those who feel their bodies are not commonly represented on stage.
You can read about the previous two Labs exploring the topic of Home (Scotland, January 2019) and Failure (Belgium, September 2019).
The selection panel for this call out will include Fiona Ferguson (Creative Development Director, Imaginate/PUSH+ Steering Group), Pamela Walker (Producer, Imaginate/PUSH+ Steering Group) and two freelance artists. Artists will hear if they have been selected or not by Monday 23 March.
Imaginate is lead partner of PUSH+, working alongside partners in Belgium, Ireland, Norway, Denmark and Thailand to ‘push’ and develop thinking, ideas and the artforms within theatre and dance for children and young people in Europe. Each PUSH+ partner has their own application process but with their own selection panel and deadlines. If you are an artist based in Scotland you should apply through Imaginate using the information on this page. You can read about the call outs in Denmark, Ireland, Belgium and Norway here.
