In summer 2018, Emma applied for our Accelerator programme with an ambitious idea for a new piece of dance theatre for 8 performers.  The size of the cast and creative team meant it was beyond our resources but we were 100% committed to supporting this work as a much-needed performance for young audiences at this scale.  We supported Emma's successful application to Creative Scotland and invited her to perform it as a work in progress at the Edinburgh International Children's Festival in May 2019.

Epic Fail

Is it really your fault? Is it a lesson in disguise? Is it even failure if you don't experience shame? We have all failed but how do we know when we have failed?  Who sets the measure of success and why do we accept it?  Is anyone really born to fail?  Featuring a highly skilled international cast of dancers with costume design from Fraser Lappin, dramaturgical support from Moos van den Broek and composition from Scott Twynholm, we offer you a series of vignettes that encourage you to question your relationship to failure and the impact your opinions can have on those around you.  Maybe together we can fail better… whatever that means!
