Hayley Earlam is a dance artist with experience as a performer, maker and facilitor in performances for babies, early years, and disabled audiences with complex needs. She will work at Scottish Dance Theatre and Kings Park school in Dundee from 5 - 9 Feburary 2024 to develop Brrr a sensory installation with live performance for audiences with additional support needs aged 10+. An immersive exploration of winter, Brrr will run as a durational performance for audiences to enter, leave and return on their choosing.
Brrr seeks to provide an autonomous space for the audience to respond in their own way. Brrr seeks to offer a gentle/soothing/responsive space where the audience has choice and is at the forefront of the work.
Through this Imaginate at Scottish Dance Theatre residency, Hayley will be interrogating the existing score through a movement and choreographic lens and explore a new section, looking at vibration and our internal brrr!
This work underwent its first research phase in October 2023, with support from Love Dance Scotland Bursary (Citymoves Dance Agency, Dance Base Scotland, Dance North, Dundee Rep & Scottish Dance Theatre, Tramway Glasgow and The Work Room).
