In 2023, Imaginate worked with Ross MacKay and Alan Freeburn to run two workshops called Networking for the Anxious. The aim of these workshops was to explore practical ways to reduce anxiety around networking events.

Out of these workshops came a desire for slower and more relaxed networking models. Ross MacKay is working with a small cohort of invited artists and arts professionals interested in work for young audiences to explore the possibility of a "slow networking" model.

From February to May 2024, the group is attending a selection of performances and exhibitions, allowing an opportunity to slowly get to know each other. The project will culminate with a visit to the Edinburgh International Children's Festival, including the Networking Event on Wednesday 29th May.

The aim of this pilot is to see how effective a group like this might be in forging meaningful contacts and reducing anxiety around networking.
