Artist Sharings at the Festival

The Festival has always been proud to platform new work being developed in Scotland. This year, we are delighted to be able to share new performance ideas from artists currently working with Imaginate as part of our year-round Creative Development programme.

** Please note both artist sharings will be recorded and available to watch at any time until 12 June for registered delegates **

Sam Hardie and Lewis Hetherington: CREATURES
Venue: Traverse Theatre 2
Monday 9 May 16:00 – 17:00

Sam and Lewis will join us to talk about their new Accelerator performance idea, CREATURES. They have been working in collaboration with young people, psychologists and a range of artists, across movement, text and design to explore and celebrate the messy complexity that lives inside all of us. What are the wild, beautiful and scary creatures that live inside us, and how might we let them out?!

Shiori Usui, Emily Nicholl and Ellen Renton
Venue: Scottish Storytelling Centre
Friday 13 May 11:00 – 12:00

Come and join us to hear about two new performance projects in development as part of our creative development programme:

Shiori Usui (Accelerator) will talk about Immersing in tactile sound a research and development project she is leading for a new performance for disabled children and young people. Shiori and a team of artists have been working together to create early stage ideas for this performance that will take place in school hydrotherapy pools.
Supported by Dundee Rep.

Emily Nicholl and Ellen Renton (Jerwood Fellows) will talk about How do you take a photo of a dinosaur? a sensory performative installation, designed and created for blind and visually impaired children and young people.  This piece was commissioned by Imaginate and the National Museum of Scotland to be performed as part of our Family Encounters event on Saturday 7 May.
Funded by Jerwood Arts and the Scottish Government's Festivals Expo Fund.
