So, this is the time we would normally be at Imaginate HQ creating hundreds of delegate lanyards, stuffing them in bags with huge bundles of tickets and getting excited about all the names of brilliant people coming to the Children’s Festival.  While so many things are different this year, there is still a programme of delegate-only events that we are excited for you to join so we can still feel a sense of ‘being together’.

Some questions about the delegate events have come up in conversations with people over the last week so I thought it might be useful to share them here in case you have similar ones. If you have different questions, please let us know as they may well be questions that other people need answers for.  I think we are all feeling a little bamboozled by life right now…

The festival has started so I'm probably too late?

The good news is that you're not too late. You can still register to be a delegate at the Festival right up to the last day on 6 June. Just book your tickets here and then email delegates@imaginate.org.uk to get a link to all delegate events.

I want to attend a delegate event but I’m not free at the time it’s on

All of the delegate-only events (except for the Disco) will be recorded so you have the option to join us ‘live’ or to watch later at any time until the end of June.  Just register as a delegate, book the event(s) you want to attend and then you’ll be able to choose whenever suits you best to watch it.  If you join live, some events will have the opportunity to ask questions in the chat box, but you won't miss anything watching it later.

The delegate event I want to go to is sold out

None of our delegate events can sell out as there is unlimited availability online. Please help us share that message as we don’t want anyone to miss out on being with us at events they are interested in.  Some events were showing as sold out thanks to some mischievous box office glitches, so do come back to book if this happened to you.

Are you doing works in progress this year?

Yes we will be sharing early-stage works, just in a different way than we have done before.  We have three productions we would love to share with you: Thrown, Hopeful Town and Untitled Discotheque Project.  Each event will include some prerecorded content (audio and/or film), some live discussion with some of the creative team and (for those attending live) the chance to ask a question yourself. All three events will be recorded so you can watch them any time until the end of June.

Is the Go & See Fund open?

Yes, if you are a freelancer based in Scotland you can ask to be reimbursed for any ticket that has a charge at Festival.  You can read more about that here.
